Utopia Genetics began in November 2010 as a custom ET herd, transplanting eggs for clients all over the nation. In early 2013 we made a strategic change in our operation. Investing in a herd of purebred Charolais females from Severance Diamond Ranch in North Dakota and a select group of Simmental donor prospects from Ratcliff Ranch in Oklahoma, allowed us to pursue a long-held dream of being a purebred operation, raising bulls for seedstock and commercial breeders.
After some changes on the ranch, we chose to downsize, selling off our Charolais herd and most of the recip cows in September of 2015. Early in 2016 we relocated to a new, smaller property west of Springfield, Missouri with our Simmental herd and and a young herd of commercial/recip cows. An exciting addition to our operation at the new place is a 600-head feedlot allowing us to purchase and background customer calves, develop replacement heifers and grow herd sire prospects.
As our program grows, we look forward to meeting more folks in the Simmental breed and growing our herd of sound, maternal, purebred cows. You can almost always find us at the American Royal or National Western Stock Show. Make sure to subscribe to our SALE CATTLE ALERT to be the first to know about cattle we have for sale.
Every year we partner with Justin & Lindsey Johnson of Prestige Cattle Co. to market our top-shelf show heifer prospects. Beginning in the fall of 2016, we will join the newly-formed Cattleman's Kind Bull Sale in Welch, OK to market our purebred and percentage bull calves.
